If you’ve never hunted with a primitive weapon such as muzzleloader or black powder rifle, you’ve yet to experience the thrill of the “old fashioned” hunting styles.

Over the years, black powder rifle hunting has greatly increased in popularity, and Hubbard Creek Outfitters is proud to have a very high success ratio with sportsmen hunting for elk, deer and bear with a muzzleloader.

Hubbard Creek Outfitters provide the black powder rifle hunter with access to plenty of game rich and uncrowded areas of National Forest and over 5000 acres of private lands.

With an early rutting season of the elk, our guides are experts at calling in big bulls or cow elk to the close in range needed to make that trophy shot. They know the game, the animal’s habits, and their travel patterns. Whether you want to hunt from a tent base camp or a cabin, the Hubbard Creek region of Colorado is well known for plenty of game and excellent hunting opportunities.

Our big game hunts furnish you with top guides, excellent cooks, horses, vehicles and all the camping gear and equipment. Our well-trained mountain horses are strong and gentle.

All muzzleloader licenses are sold by a draw system run by the Colorado Division of Wildlife, and usually have to be applied for no later than April 1st for the upcoming season. Contact the Colorado Division of Wildlife for their big game booklet and application information.
